The origin of innovation
The adventure began when a couple of plumbing contractors were faced with difficult tasks on construction sites. Motivated by the desire to solve back pain problems associated with manual shoveling, they had the ingenious idea of applying the lever principle to the shoveling process. Their success required hard work to adapt, design, experiment and perfect what has today become the BERCOLEVER: a reliable and efficient solution.
The frequent and well-known danger is the following: before starting the work of connecting pipes to the basement, the worker must often dig trenches 2 to 3 feet deep in different types of soil (crushed, clay, sand, earth mixed with stones). The risk of back injuries is high and recurring due to the sustained effort required to dig these trenches to install underground plumbing, using a conventional round shovel.
The solution: the BERCOLEVER.
A light and durable work tool, making it easier to carry out the digging task.
Winner of the Maestria 2016 competition
Thanks to BERCOLEVER, Plomberie Mario Côté inc. won the provincial prize in Health Prevention - Safety from the CMMTQ (Corporation of master pipe mechanics of Quebec). The innovation won over the jury who recognized its benefits and its potential.
